Stratlab is looking for a new staff member to help with a wide range of duties.  Our business sells laboratory goods worldwide.  

This is an opportunity for the succesful applicant to have a key role in ensuring our continued growth.  You will be expected to contribute to most aspects of the day to day running of the business.

In particular you will be involved in full in the Sales process from lead generation through to follow-up after delivery.  We are a small company, so you should expect to be involved in many of the day to day activities of the business.

Specific duties will depend on the knowledge, experience and skills of the successful candidate but are expected to include the following:
  • helping to generate sales inquiries, prepare quotations, follow up their progress to order and order processing
  • supplier contacts - delivery date, dealing with queries, calculating shipping costs to our UK and international customers
  • customer contacts - monitoring and advising delivery time
  • warehouse and related - goods in, packing/repacking, goods out, labelling
  • possible assistance in the development of products in-house (involving varous scientific disciplines especially chemistry)

It is important to us that our customers receive their orders well presented and in good condition.  Goods in, packing and goods out will potentially important area of responsibility.  More time will be spent in a directly 'customer-facing' role however.  For this reason, knowledge of analytical laboratories and laboratory products would be a distinct advantage.

The candidate will require being resourceful in this multi-disciplinary role.  In addition the following criteria should be expected to be met. 
  • knowledge of science especially chemistry, biology/life science to degree level or equivalent if you are a working laboratory technician
  • good level of fitness
  • ability to work on own initiative
  • ability to prioritise
  • good telephone manner
  • good computing skills
  • a flexible attitude to work and working in a small company environment
  • knowledge of science, especially chemistry or biology

Above all, you must be must be hard working, have excellent punctuality, and an interest and passion for the job

Additional and on-going training will be given as required. 

The job is full time, based at our March, PE15 base.  Hours are 8.30/9.00 am to 4.30/5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
